Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council Corporate Plan

About the Project:

Developed by UP North on behalf of Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council, the Corporate Plan 2025–2030 sets a bold and community-driven agenda for the next five years.

Grounded in the voices of Kowanyama’s people, from Elders to young leaders, the plan outlines the priorities, strategies, and values that will guide Council’s work across five key areas: Advocacy, Culture and Country, Partnerships, Local Jobs, and Infrastructure.

The project was shaped through engagement in the community, including workshops with Council staff, service providers, and residents. It reflects a commitment to self-determination, accountability, and strong local governance, and provides a foundation for Council to advocate for funding, track delivery, and report back to the community in clear and meaningful ways.
