Liveability 2035: Shaping the Hinchinbrook Way

About the Project:

Liveability 2035: Shaping the Hinchinbrook Way is a bold, community-driven blueprint for a prosperous, sustainable, and inclusive Hinchinbrook by 2035.

Developed by UP North on behalf of Hinchinbrook Shire Council, the strategy provides a clear framework to guide growth, quality of life, and regional identity over the next decade. Informed by extensive engagement with nearly 2,000 residents, the strategy captures a shared vision for a connected, resilient, authentic, and aspirational future.

The Strategy aims to attract and retain families, professionals, and businesses by enhancing liveability across all life stages. It does this by supporting housing diversity, inclusive public spaces, environmental protection, and community-led decision-making. It will be delivered through key Council plans and partnerships, embedding liveability into the region’s planning, investment, and collaboration agenda.
