Bruce is a leader in the fields of Water and Waste and Local Government infrastructure management with over 33 years’ experience in the environmental monitoring, water industry and Local Government sectors including 20 years in Executive Leadership roles.

Bruce specialises in the management and leadership of large operational workforces, delivering design, planning, construction and maintenance services for infrastructure and assets. He has overseen the delivery of well over $1 Billion worth of infrastructure for the Cairns community including several award-winning projects.

His experience includes being part of an Executive team responsible for the delivery of an annual budget of over $300M which has provided him with an in-depth understanding of Local Government regulations and governance requirements.

Bruce’s Local Government portfolio included the following areas of responsibility:
• Water treatment and reticulation including dam management
• Wastewater reticulation and treatment including reuse schemes
• Residential and public waste collection and recycling services
• Transfer station and landfill operations
• Alternate Waste Treatment and Material Recovery Facility operations
• Maintaining public assets including transport, drainage, marine, buildings,
vehicle fleet, parks and gardens, foreshores, and natural areas
• Strategic and Tactical Asset Management
• Capital program development and project delivery.
